Municipal museum. Wattens
Located right in the center of Wattens, the Museum Wattens invites you to immerse yourself in the industrial and everyday history of the market town. With hands-on exhibits, videos, images and radio plays, the museum ensures a varied visit. Visitors can learn more about the transformation from a typical Tyrolean farming village to an international industrial town.
What does the Wattens Community Museum offer
At the heart of the Museum Wattens is the search: for home, for history, for identity and for where to go. Despite its name, the museum does not see itself as a museum. Instead, it takes on the role of a cultural powerhouse. Fed by the history of Wattens, it drives the place forward.
Wattens is a magical place - a place where different layers of time and meaning overlap. A settlement history dating back to the Iron Age and a (pre-)industrial tradition dating back to the Middle Ages have left their mark on Wattens.
