The eagle has been a native animal in Tyrol for centuries and stands for freedom, strength and vastness. The route of the Adlerweg, the main hiking trail across Tyrol, symbolizes a proud eagle spreading its "wings" over the land. The Zirbenweg high above Hall in Tirol and Innsbruck is one of the most beautiful high-altitude hiking trails in the Alps. Here you can easily get to know the 13th stage of the Adlerweg.

Stage description

Real mountain lovers are drawn back to the mountains, but after the high life in the city, this easy 13th stage is just right. You can give your legs a rest as you take the bus or streetcar to Igls and then the gondola lift to the Patscherkofel mountain station. The Zirbenweg is a wide path with no steep sections that leads eastwards. It only climbs slightly to the Boschebenhütte. From there either into the Viggartal valley to the Meißnerhaus or to the Tulfeinalm/Halsmarterlift. Descent to Tulfes and back to Igls and Innsbruck. However, we also recommend paying a visit to the beautiful historic town of Hall in Tirol from Tulfes.
