Square and summer concerts. Living customs
The summer square concerts in the region are a living tradition and provide an insight into authentic village life. Making music, especially in brass bands, is one of the most popular leisure activities for Tyroleans. Many spend their free time in music clubs.
Every village has its own music and brass band, its own charm, its own traditional costume and its own concerts.
You can experience living tradition up close at one of the regular evening concerts of the local bands. Without the enthusiasm of the many musicians, these events would not be possible. This understanding of music is passed on to the youngest members and many of them have been involved since they were children.
During the cold season, they make music together every week, rehearse and think about which new pieces of music will be performed by guests and locals on warm summer nights. From as early as April, they can be seen proudly parading through the villages in their traditional costumes and musical instruments to the concert venue. Almost every village has built its own music pavilion in a prominent location especially for these special events. The nine local brass bands perform pieces of music every week as part of a concert. The extensive program of the individual groups invites you to linger and is without question a highlight for all lovers of brass music.
A meeting and togetherness of locals and guests is a matter of course here.
