They preserve and maintain old cribs, but also create modern cribs. One of the oldest nativity scene associations can be found in Thaur. The depiction of nativity scenes has been practiced in Thaur since the 18th century. Local artists not only created outstanding works of art, the nativity scene was also an identification with faith. This created a nativity scene movement in Tyrol that is unparalleled worldwide.

In the parish churches of the Hall-Wattens region you will find a variety of nativity scenes, some of which are very valuable and well worth seeing. The Tyrolean nativity scene tradition is also omnipresent in village centers, public squares and, of course, in private homes.
