Long-distance hiking trail. Via Alpina - Red Trail
The Via Alpina is a 5,000 km long-distance hiking trail with 342 daily stages across eight countries in the Alpine arc. This long-distance hiking trail can be tackled in different ways and is therefore divided into different colors. The Red Trail with 161 stages is a connecting route between the eight Alpine countries. It crosses the main Alpine ridge several times to connect Trieste with Monaco via Tyrol, Bavaria and Liechtenstein.
Along the way, hikers can discover the diversity of fauna, flora and landscapes, especially in the numerous nature reserves and national parks, and understand the dimensions of the Alps as Europe's largest natural area. The Red Trail is also a trail of languages and bears witness to the historical role of the Alpine passes as the most important trade routes.
Here we present the stages that lead through Tyrol and the Hall-Wattens region. There are two variants, namely from the Inn Valley to the south and from the Inn Valley to the north. There is no luggage transport for the stages in our region!
