From Munich to Venice on foot - a unique journey that is captivating more and more hikers. A special kind of Alpine crossing. This long-distance hiking trail takes a total of one month and has 31 stages. The route is over 500 kilometers long and there are around 20,000 meters of altitude to conquer.
With the classic alpine route from the Karwendel (Hallerangerhaus) via the Inntal valley into the Wattental valley to the Lizumerhütte or via the Glungezer to the Lizumerhütte, one of the most beautiful sections leads through the Hall - Wattens region. Look forward to a hike with wonderful views and an evening in a hut at Tyrol's highest summer and winter Alpine Club huts. There is no luggage transport on this route.

For tour planning, we recommend the book or tour guide "Bergtour ans Meer" by Gerald Aichner: Zu Fuß über die Alpen - Vom Karwendel 21 Tage nach Venedig : In his adventure guide, Gerald Aichner describes his tour across the Alps to the Mediterranean.
"From 3,000 m to zero, on foot across the Alps from Scharnitz to Venice was an old wish and dream goal of ours, a great challenge, but an even deeper and wonderful experience of nature. We undertook this mountain tour to the sea in 21 daily stages," says Gerald Aichner, describing his motivation for the tour.
The local connection was there right from the start: "We wanted to incorporate our local mountains Glungezer and Geier in the Lizum into a major alpine trekking route, so this route was created from Scharnitz, via Karwendel - Halleranger, Hall, through the Zillertal, Dolomites and Civetta, via many DAV and ÖAV huts. The Glungezer - Lizum section is one of the biggest challenges and our special centerpiece of the whole tour."
