Legends and stories. From Tyrol
Legends are oral tales that often contain fantastic or mystical elements. They are one of the oldest forms of folk literature and have a long tradition in many cultures. A characteristic feature of legends is that they are often linked to specific places or historical events, giving them a regional or local flavor.
This narrative form often makes use of supernatural elements, such as wizards, fairies, dragons or heroes with superhuman powers. The stories are passed down from generation to generation and can develop different variations over time. Legends are not just for entertainment, but often also have a moral or instructive component. They convey values, traditions and the identity of a community.
The Hall-Wattens region is also full of legends and stories. The matching book was written by Christine Zucchelli and has been published under the title "Mysterious Hall". The book not only contains legends from Hall, but also from all 10 surrounding villages. The best-known legends are undoubtedly "Der Bettelwurfgeist" and the legend of the "Glungezer Riese". Incidentally, the latter legend gave its name to the new via ferrata on the Glungezer.
