Give Away. Winter magic in the mountains
The glistening snowy landscape as far as the eye can see, plus perfect pistes, fantastic winter hiking trails and varied toboggan runs: The Hall-Wattens vacation region in the heart of Tyrol is an insider tip for moments of winter enjoyment in the cold season. Far away from mass tourism, magnificent nature, quaint villages and a wide range of excellent restaurants and activities await you.
Win a stay in the Hall-Wattens region. The main prize is a Glungezer ski package at Hotel 3 *** (overnight stay/breakfast) for 2 people.
When you think of winter in Austria, endless ski slopes and sunny descents usually spring to mind. The Hall-Wattens region is no exception: in the Glungezer ski area near the tranquil village of Tulfes, a state-of-the-art combined lift takes you up to 2,050 meters above sea level. Once at the top, guests can enjoy perfectly groomed pistes made of pure, grippy snow and the incomparable view over the Inntal valley, the massive Karwendel mountains, the Stubai Alps and the Tux Alps. There is plenty of variety on more than 23 kilometers of pistes: little snow foxes learn their first turns in the lovingly designed Kinderland, while advanced skiers get their money's worth on the more challenging routes in the upper part of the ski area.
Winter hiking and tobogganing fun
The Hall-Wattens region also has plenty to offer away from the slopes in winter. Endless snow-covered forests and romantic paths make the surrounding mountains a popular winter and snowshoe hiking area. Even in the cold season, visitors can reach the peaks bathed in white gently and safely - even in heavy snow, progress is effortless. A wide network of paths and trails allows hikers to discover something new every day.
New to discover this winter: the romantic winter hiking circuit around Halsmarter and the fantastic panoramic toboggan run from the Tulfein mountain station on the Glungezer, which offers outstanding views of around 400 Alpine peaks when visibility is good.
