Baumkirchen. In Tyrol
The sunny location on a small hill above the Inn Valley made the small village a popular settlement area as early as the Bronze Age. And even today, people benefit from this special location: numerous hiking opportunities and mountain tours start "on the doorstep" and you can enjoy the view over the Inn Valley from many vantage points. The 12 springs that made Baumkirchen a popular spa in the 16th century were unfortunately buried by earthquakes. Today, the lush meadows and forests that surround the cozy village invite you to relax and enjoy nature on long walks.
Sports fans have plenty to choose from: the nearby Baumkirchen forest offers a wide range of hiking opportunities. Other hiking trails lead to the neighboring village of Fritzens and up to the plateau around Gnadenwald. Nordic walkers and runners have direct access to the extensive network of trails, which also leads through the wild and romantic Baumkirchner Valley. One of the annual sporting highlights is the Solstice Run. And for cyclists, the Inn Cycle Path is just a few "turns" away.
