The midwife. Film shoot
The historical film "Bergwehen - Die Hebamme" was shot in Bavaria and Tyrol in May 2009. The historic old town of Hall in Tirol (Rosengasse, Stiftsplatz, Schmiedgasse) was a particularly important location for the film. The film was directed by Dagmar Hirtz. The screenplay was written by Peter Probst based on an idea by Monika Bittl and is being produced by Munich-based Roxy Film and Austrian SK-Filmproduktion on behalf of ZDF and ORF.

Summary of the movie
It tells the story of the strong and independent Rosa Koelbl (Brigitte Hobmeier), who lives in modest circumstances with her sister Anna (Pippa Galli) after the death of her husband. She earns money for the family as a midwife. She is very popular with the women because of her warm-hearted nature and competence. However, she is a thorn in the side of the men - especially the doctors. Caesarean sections are becoming increasingly popular in medicine, but sometimes with fatal consequences for mother and child. Rosa speaks out clearly against it and helps women to give birth naturally.
