The Glungezerbahn in Tulfes starts the summer season on June 3rd. Summer 2023 offers a wide range of activities and events on the mountain. In addition to the Kugelwald mountain adventure world on the Glungezer and Austria's 1st legend climbing route from Tulfein to the Glungezer summit, exciting events such as the Swiss stone pine days and moonlight rides will take place.

From Saturday, June 3, 2023, the Glungezerbahn will once again take all mountain enthusiasts up the Glungezer. The Glungezerbahn will be in operation daily from 08:30 to 17:00, offering a relaxed ascent and descent for all visitors to the mountain and the Zirbenweg trail.

The Zirbenweg - a pleasure to hike

Famous, popular and an uplifting experience every time: the seven-kilometre Zirbenweg is a fascinating panoramic hiking trail at 2,000 meters above sea level. It runs from the mountain station of the Patscherkofel cable car to the Tulfeinalm near Tulfes. Thanks to the pleasant, easy route, the Zirbenweg is a highlight for young and old and provides incomparable views of over 400 mountain peaks. Close to the Tulfeinalm, you can enjoy the incomparably woody and tart scent of Swiss stone pine as you walk past the Zirbensee lake to the Halsmarter middle station. If you are looking to cool off after an exciting hike on the mountain, you will find the wonderfully cool water at the Zirbensee water playground.

Kugelwald mountain adventure world on the Glungezer

The mountain adventure world "Kugelwald am Glungezer" directly at the Halsmarter middle station fascinates with a variety of play options at 1,500 meters above sea level. Like on a rollercoaster, the balls roll from tree to tree on tracks made of Swiss stone pine. On an area of 8,000 square meters, visitors will also find a large tree house, a do-it-yourself construction area, a relaxation area, sound elements and a forest classroom. There is also a low ropes course for climbing around at low heights to make exploring the forest even more exciting. The Zwuglrunde, around the spherical forest, was also built. This can be done with baby carriages and takes about 45 minutes.

1st legendary via ferrata in Austria

For all those who would like to go even higher, the Sagenklettersteig via ferrata on the Glungezer offers adventurous fun on the rock face for the whole family. With difficulty levels ranging from easy ("Category A") to difficult ("Category C"), it has something for everyone, including short and long steep climbs, ridge intersections, chimney passages and a spectacular rope bridge.

Events on the Glungezer

A varied program is offered on the Glungezer in summer. The Swiss stone pine days with Swiss stone pine market and show carving bring the versatility of Swiss stone pine closer to all those interested. For children, there is not only the Kugelwald Festival with RatzFatz concert, but also the Halsmarter Kasperl Theater, which takes place every Saturday from 15.07.2023 - 28.08.2023. Another highlight are the moonlight rides, when the Glungezerbahn cable car is in operation until 11:00 pm and nature hikes, legend readings, yoga on Lake Zirbensee and moon watching are offered. For a special evening on the mountain, where you can enjoy the sunset, there are evening rides every Tuesday from 13 June to the end of August. The Glungezerbahn always runs until 22:00.
