Glungezer. The mountain in summer

The Hall-Wattens region has many different facets - especially from a scenic perspective. While the Karwendel Nature Park with its imposing limestone and dolomite rock towers in the north of the region, the landscape in the south appears more gentle at first glance. But even here there are spectacular mountain peaks, such as the Glungezer itself, which gives the area its name.

The name "Glungezer" probably refers to the gurgling water, because in a hollow above the Tulfeinalm, but also in other places, the water flows invisibly between and under the boulders.

Summer is exciting on the Glungezer. There is a wide range of activities on offer. And for the whole family. Whether on foot or with the Glungezerbahn to Halsmarter or the Tulfein Alm: There is plenty to enjoy in every respect. And of course there's no shortage of culinary delights here!

Culinary delights on the Glungezer

The Glungezer offers a variety of places to stop for refreshments. Starting in the valley, all the way up to 2,610 m above sea level. There you will find the Glungezerhütte, the highest hut above the Inntal valley. It is the starting point or junction for various long-distance hiking trails. You can treat yourself to delicacies from the hut kitchen, home-baked bread and delicious desserts. The Larchnhittl with its sun terrace and adventure playground is located directly at the valley station. While the children are having fun, you can enjoy local and international dishes. The Alpengasthof Halsmarter at the Mittelsation Glungezerbahn and the Tulfein Alm round off the offer. Various events such as morning pints and concerts make the Alpengasthof Halsmarter a sociable experience. The Tulfein Alm is located at the mountain station of the Glungezerbahn and directly on the beautiful Zirbenweg. It offers an unforgettable panoramic view of the Inn Valley and the surrounding mountains.
